Vikings and Andre Smith Agree on New 1-Year Deal
The Vikings just got a whole lot bigger on their offensive line Thursday as they agreed to a new one-year contract with the former Cincinnati Bengal.
Minnesota must really be feeling the luck of the Irish today as the team signed the newest member to their offensive line. The team wined and dined, but didn't sign, the offensive tackle earlier in the week as Andre Smith left the Twin Cities for the desert saying the Vikings had a 50/50 chance at getting him to play with the team this season.
As we continue to get closer to the draft, it's hard to imagine the Vikings drafting an offensive lineman with the twenty-third pick in the draft, as they also signed guard Alex Boone to a lucrative 4-year contract earlier during free agency. Things should get more and more interesting as we see who general manager Rick Spielman takes, whether it be a wide receiver or best player available!
What we do know is that quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will have a much different line protecting him than what he saw last season, and that is in no way a bad thing!
